Water Water everywhere......
This is a very recent photograph, in fact I only took it yesterday afternoon! Following a snow fall and subsequent rain, an area not far from the house became quite waterlogged and began to flood. I quite liked the way that the grass grows through the water and if you look closely enough you'll see the fence posts disappearing under the water!

Hong Kong Skyline
Quite liked the cloud formation in this photograph of the Hong Kong skyline. OK, so I've done a little bit of jiggery pockery with it, however I still think it looks preety impressive!

Floating on by
I was really pleased with the end result of this image. My wife and I were walking along the beach at Fraserburgh as the tide started to come in. As we walked along, we discovered the broken net float lying in the sand, and I loved the way it contrasted so well with the blue of the sky.

Interesting Light
I really like the interesting light on this particular photograph, which was taken in downtown Austin TX. Without the use of a tripod, or any other supporting device, this was totally handheld with a slight time exposure, so was reasonablly pleased with the result!

Chateau Frontenac
To be honest, this is one of my older photographs, taken back in May 1992. I was staying with some friends in Montreal and she suggested we spend a day up in Quebec. One of the amazing sights in the Chateau Frontenac. I really liked this view, although I did feel the need to add a little colour to the otherwise dull sky.

A Small fall of Snow
This is my favourite photograph of the moment! The trees appear to be all dead, but their majest shapes offered a reminder of when they were alive and awash with living colour. Not exactly to get access to, I lost my wellies in the mud and become stuck on more than one ocassion. I had to be careful not to wade into the photographic area, as I wanted the snow to take on a "virgin" look. Photographed on the outskirts of Portlethen in Aberdeenshire.

A rare Aberdeen Gritter......
Everytime there is a snow fall in my home town of Aberdeen, there are always a huge amount of people complaining about the lack of gritters and snow ploughs. Well, just to prove that they do exist, and to prove that the people that drive them do a great job in all sorts of weather, for very little appreciation, here's one that we followed on the road to Fraserburgh.

One Foggy Night
Actually took this one in May 2009 on our way home from our wedding rehearsal. It was such a foggy night but the trees offered some fantastic shapes, being to close to the road. However the lights of the car offer a great focal point, especially with the overall lack of colour in the image.

Feel the Burn!
This was taken at the Burn O Vat in Aberdeenshire. The strange thing is the shape and angle of trees suggest that a wide angle lens was used. However this was not the case, this is how they actually look!

Looking like the jaws of some terrible beast, the reality is somewhat more gentle! A close up of a household plant created this fantastic image. And which the introduction of a little depth of field, the eye is immediately drawn to the central section.

Misty Morning
A foggie morning, (a pea souper as we call it locally!) and a wide expance of open space, helped create the startness in the photograph. Taken at 8am on a spring morning, the mist lay heavy for only a short time before clearing into a lovely morning. Being in the right place at the right time was crucial to the success of this image.

Poppy Appeal
I think the appeal of this photograph is the way in which the wild poppies grow in and over the white metal gate. The gate clearly hasn't been painted for several years, perhaps because of the poppies?, which gives it a classic rustic countryside look.

3D Leaves

My Pet Seagull
Ever since I saved a drowning seagull from the ice frozen waters of the Duthie Park boating pond, it has been a standing joke amongst friends that my pet seagull appears in a number of my photographs, as if on cue! This of course is not the case, however he was certainly in the right place at the right time for this photograph taken at Aberdeen Beach.

Autumn Walk
I took this photograph a few years ago during autumn time. It was taken on the banks of the River Don in Dyce, Aberdeenshire. I was quite pleased with the composition with the water, together with the shape of the path. There was also a slight haze which takes away some of the excessive strength of the trees in the background.

Lamborghini Gallardo
I really like the simplicity of this image, which is a brake caliper on a new Lamborghini Gallardo. Because the vehicle was brand new, the inside of the wheel of the caliper didn't have any brake dust. The fact the wheel was positioned to show the full Lamborghini name was just an added bonus.

Red Ferrari
This is one of those crazy photographs that wasn't even set up. The Ferrari was parked in a car park and the owner was in the process of peeling a banana. The remainder of the bunch he had placed on the bonnet, right next to the yellow Ferrari badge. I thought the contrast between the red and the yellow made for an interesting composition.

Frosty Flower

Rotten Boat
We came across the decaying finishing boat on the water front at Pennen in Aberdeenshire. I really liked the composition of the boat, the netting and in particular the orange net float.
